“Craft and artistry cannot be separated. My craft is impeccable and deliberate, yet I’m constantly struggling to allow for spontaneity and the kind of intuitive leaps that only come through unplanned expression. The balance point can be difficult to find, and glass can be an unforgiving medium. I can neither play too loose nor control too closely. For me, walking the line is about seeking to create simple forms to express concepts that matter, and finishing each piece with flawless craftsmanship.”
